Course Summary:
CDI Emergency Trauma Care is a 1 day (8hr) course that covers immediate life saving steps focused on the civilian and Law Enforcement audience. The focus of the basic course is teach the life saving skills that first responders, hunters, outdoor professionals, teachers, students, and many others who want to protect their family and others in a traumatic event such as an active shooter incident, motor vehicle accidents, outdoor accidents and home and work situations.
Training Objective:
CDI Emergency Trauma Care provides instructors with a toolkit to teach the general public basic emergency response to life-threatening emergencies until EMS arrives on the scene. Through lesson presentations and hands-on skill stations, participants will learn how to access help in the event of a life-threatening emergency and what to do until EMS arrives.
Immediate lifesaving steps to prevent loss of life from a traumatic event based on what is currently being taught to Military & Law Enforcement personnel nation wide.
This class teaches individual medical tasks and use of an Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), but also the skill-sets and tools to bring back to their family, schools or agency to develop and refine immediate life saving procedures.
This course covers:
- Activating the 911 system
- Hands-only CPR and AED
- Administering naloxone
- Administering epinephrine
- Responding to life-threatening bleeding
- Penetrating chest trauma
- Moving patients to safety
- Positioning injured patients
- Using IFAKs
